D.C. hotels keep using a photograph of the Wisconsin Capitol to illustrate their (supposedly) beautiful city.

The George Washington University Inn, Avenue Suites Georgetown,  One Washington Circle Hotel, a Holiday Inn in Hyattsville, and the Navy Yard Hampton Inn and Suites are all using a gorgeous photograph of the Capitol on the Square here on the isthmus of Madison, Wisconsin.

It is also on the cover of a printing of "Das Kapital".

Mistakes were made.

It's probably one company that does all those websites and furthermore outsourced the work to India.

Well, based upon my visit in July, the Capital building, the Square and the street layout to the lake, make Madison the most beautiful state Capitals I have seen. Extra bonus for us was visit to Saturday market.

Ugliest State Capital? California.

@campy "Do they also photoshop in some African-Americans?". Good comment - ack of color was also noticeable. Lots of White Guilt on display at some of the political booths/stands.

The Wisconsin Capitol is much nicer. The US Capitol dome is cast iron, for Pete's sake. It is not fabulous.

DC is the only place that counts. All those other "Capitols" are mere window-dressing.
